The sleepy little town of Lake Placid, NY which is an Adirondack village may not be on your vacation radar but there is a reason that this is a prime tourist destination in the United States as well as the state of Maine. Shopping. If shopping were an Olympic sport then Lake Placid would be Mount Olympus. While it doesn’t look like much at fist glance, there is a great deal more than meets the eye with shopping in this sleepy little Adirondack village. You will find world class craft shops and boutiques as well as plenty of curiosity shops that carry one of a kind items you’ll be glad to purchase for yourself or friends and family back home.
